Get to Know Me
Experienced Counselling Professional
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Adler University based in Vancouver. Prior to that, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Simon Fraser University. I have been working in mental health for 12 years and have been specifically practicing in the field of counselling for 9 years.
My interest in counselling psychology started at a young age, my curiosity led me to want to understand why people did the things they did. Why do we do what we do? How come I feel this way? How does this event that happened to me impact me today? Why can’t I get these thoughts out of my head? Why am I repeating these patterns in relationships? I asked myself those very same questions throughout my life, and found that psychology had good answers for them. Through conversations with my friends and family, I realized that having been equipped with this knowledge helped others make sense of their lives too. It is through my own experience, as well as through relationships with others and the world, that I have learned to make sense of human behaviour. And this awareness, along with my training and education, has helped me become a counsellor who can support individuals to navigate the challenges they face in their lives.
I am blessed to be in the profession of healing and helping others. I have seen an incredible amount of resilience and perseverance in the people that I have worked with, which inspires me daily. I believe that the world is in need of more connection, more empathy, and more compassion - through my work, I strive to create such a place for my clients.
